Morgan Stanley names new Latin America wealth head

Ex-Lehman exec Ernesto De La Fe to open new high-net-worth office in Miami. Ernesto de la Fe has left Lehman Brothers for Morgan Stanley's private wealth group, where he'll head up the Wall Street giant's Latin American business.

"Ernesto is the ideal person to lead our expansion in this market and to open a new office in Miami to serve the many Latin American clients who can benefit from Morgan Stanley's considerable array of products and services for high net worth individuals, families and institutions," says Donald Herrema, head of Morgan Stanley's high-end wealth-management business in the Americas.

Before making the move to Morgan Stanley, De la Fe was head of Latin American business development for Lehman Brothers asset-management group.

The first order of business for De la Fe will be opening an office in Miami as a base for Morgan Stanley's wealth-management efforts in Spanish-speaking Caribbean countries, Mexico and Central and South America. -FWR
